Isreali Airforce have Launched an Airstrike against Syrian Airbase in an Attempt for syria to transfer Sensitive weapon to Hezbollah Terrorist


After Al Arabiya reported that Israel was behind two attacks within Syria, a senior level American official confirmed to CNN that Israel was behind the attack in Latakia. According to their reports not confirmed by any other source, the goal of the attack was to stop the transfer of SA-missiles to Hezbollah.

A senior level US official confirmed that Israel attacked the port city of Latakia in north-western Syria, according to a report last night on CNN.  According to the senior level US official, the Israeli Air Force attacked military forces within the Syrian city.  Earlier on, the Al Arabiya channel reported that Israel attacked Syria twice, in Latakia and in the Syrian capital city of Damascus with the goal of preventing rocket shipments to Hezbollah.  The report was not confirmed by any official source.

 Yesterday morning, the Arabic media had reported that a powerful explosion occurred on a Syrian Air Force Base near Latakia.  The Syrian Organization for Human Rights claimed that the explosion destroyed the Syrian military base.  Two days ago, the Lebanese Governmental News Agency stated that six Israeli air planes infiltrated Lebanese air space, near the capital city Beirut.

 A few hours after the explosion at the Syrian Air Force base was reported, analysis of the target near the village of Snober Jabla in the north western part of the country indicated that the anti-aircraft system possessed advanced SA-missiles made in Russia.

Satellite imagery of the site that was attacked shows anti-aircraft batteries involved with the NEVA Syrian defense system.  Furthermore, a missile named SA includes MANA (Fire Management Center), which includes the acquisition of radar tracks following after the target, antennas broadcasting signals and trekking devices for the missiles.

 Missile launchers are located around the MANA, each one of them possessing four missiles.  The improved missile has a maximum range of 35 kilometers and has a warhead weighing 70 kilograms.  This improved missile system was developed in Russia in 2000.  The system has a long-range capability, the ability to kill multiple targets, and to kill at a higher probability.  Also, its launcher trek has improved mobility.
